Little holiday!

Monday morning I decided to look for a other playground. And we knew there would be 1 not to far from our house, right next to the Hudson River. But we were walking, and walking, and walking and we didn’t find a way to come closer by the river. Then I saw a grandmother and grandfather with a little boy walking in a other direction, and I decided to follow them. Perhaps they would go to some kind of playground right? And they did! Good job ;).
And it was a nicer one that we knew already! With a few different slides, bigger and smaller ones, swings and a nice small river next to the playground to just have a look.
In the morning I already made some lunch and luckily I brought it with me. So we had a nice picnic as well! A nice day with lovely weather around 24 degrees (and I got burned by the shoulders…). After the playground we went into a shop to look for some Easter things to be creative. We could not found much but at least we have now some colored eggs and a basket.
Tuesday it was raining since the moment I woke up. Isabel was coughing a lot around 7 am. Normally I wake up like 7.15 and be shore that I’m ready at 8 am. That’s the time the girls most of the time waking up. So now I had to take a quick shower before Pedro was leaving and taking care of Isabel. Angela started coughing a few days ago, and it’s not that she was really sick but she was not having that much energy as before so it seemed to be that Isabel was having the same.. Luckily she was a little better after breakfast. I decided to play the game of hiding the Easter eggs and look for them. They loved it! And we played for at least an half hour! First I was hiding them and they had to count till 20. Then Isabel was hiding them, funny to see that some eggs where at the same place as I hided them. And then it was Angela’s turn. So funny, she was hiding all the 5 eggs together at 1 place. And she looked at me like why are you laughing?
The Wednesday morning started strange with a very cold morning and some snow of the night before… From Monday 24 degrees to 0 degrees! We went he morning to the library to play for a while. This Thursday the library will be closed because of the holiday’s this week in the USA. So we went today. We played with the blocks, read some books and made some puzzles. After their rest time the girls went into bath and played for at least a half hour. In the end of the day we made some lovely chocolate chip cookies with some extra m&m’s in it! Jum! The girls both don’t like dirty hands so I was very curious because they had to be with their hands into the dough. Isabel was good for the whole time but Angela was trying hard for a few minutes but then it was enough ;). In the end we ate some and they were lovely!
Angela was having a bad morning at Thursday.. It begun with the hair elastic that she dropped into the toilet at the same time that we flushed the toilet.. Ai ai… With the breakfast more cornflakes went next to her mouth then in. And when we went to the ‘new’ playground that we found last Monday the girls were playing so nicely. But when they were sitting on the swings and Angela decided after 10 minutes that it was enough (even if the swings were swinging very fast), she jumped out of the swing and felt right on her nose… Luckily no big problems but not nice!
Then we went to look for the small river that’s also close by, and after a few minutes Isabel wanted to stand on the big stones in the river and Angela of course also. Isabel was helping her to give her a hand, but with the hand as well Angela stepped not on the stone but right into the water. Luckily the water was as high as her boots and because I took her immediately out, it was not that bad but you can imagine that it was enough bad luck for that day ;). The rest of the day went better!
Friday morning I wanted to go for a look at the train-station. But Isabel did not liked the idea so plans changed… We needed to go to the supermarket so a combination of the ‘old’ playground nearby was perfect. This time I had the focus on the climbing part in the playground. And Isabel did that perfect, Angela was a little bit afraid in the beginning so when I helped her a few times it went better. When we came home the girls really wanted to have just sliced bread with something on it, like the Dutch way ;). Funny because for me that’s so normal but they are not used by the way they grew up with Aleksandra and Pedro. And when the girls had a nap, it was time for me to pack my suitcase because we are going for a ‘little-holiday’! Pedro is having till the end of April an apartment from asml so they wanted at least to spend 1 weekend before that will end. It is in Connecticut so that will be my 3th state already! Looking forward to it!
So saturday morning i woke up not in the best way. I slept very bad even that i had a lovely big bed with a lot's of pillows.
That morning they went to the swimming pool in the hotel and they dropped me off by the big shopping mall around the corner. There was a Macy’s an a Forever21 so enough to having a good time ;). In the afternoon we went to ‘New Haven’ were Yale the University is. I was looking forward for that part of the day! It was lovely.. Beautiful big buildings, with in every building a other study. Nice parks to have a walk and a very relaxed feeling around the university! It was really nice!!
The Sunday they went again to the swimming pool and in that time I had the chance to make some nice brunch for Easter! So I made some small buns, omelets with cream cheese and strawberry’s and Egg chickens! The girls were helping also a little bit. In the end we promised them to go to the aquarium, but we thought it was already too late to spend the time in there so we asked them to go to the ‘Mary goes round’. In the end they both agreed but when we came there the shopping mall was closed because of Easter…. The girls were of course not happy with that!! But luckily when we arrived by a nice park with playground and lake they were happy. We had a nice time there and again I feel so lucky to be here and see all of those things!!
